No Kits Required: Teaching Robotics, Coding, and Engineering in Any Classroom 3-8
Tuesday August 4, 2026 12:00pm - 1:00pm EDT
What if students could build, code, test, and solve engineering challenges without expensive kits, prep, or cleanup? Step into the role of a student and experience a robotics or engineering challenge firsthand, then explore how teachers are bringing engaging computer science and STEM projects to life with minimal setup.

Computer science, robotics, and engineering projects can be some of the most engaging experiences students encounter in school. However, many educators face practical barriers when trying to implement them, including the cost of equipment, limited storage space, setup and maintenance requirements, and the challenge of providing meaningful hands-on experiences at scale.

In this interactive session, participants will explore an alternative approach to delivering coding, robotics, and engineering experiences in K-12 classrooms.

Rather than watching a presentation, attendees will step into the role of a student and complete a hands-on challenge firsthand. They will solve problems, test ideas, and experience the same project-based learning process students use while exploring concepts related to coding, robotics, engineering, and design thinking.

The session will then shift to the teacher perspective, where participants will explore how projects can be assigned, monitored, and assessed in a classroom setting. Attendees will leave with hands-on experience, practical implementation ideas, and resources to help them bring engaging computer science and STEM projects to their students.
