About me
Victor G. Hicks is the Founder and CEO of Coding with Culture, a Black-founded educational ecosystem building a Kindergarten-to-HBCU pathway in Computational and Design Thinking. With more than two decades of dedicated service in education before launching his organization, Victor operates on the core truth that culture is the foundation of innovation, not an afterthought. His deep-rooted belief in institutional excellence is backed by his own legacy as a proud alumnus of two HBCUs: Fisk University and Clark Atlanta University. A highly sought-after thought leader, Victor was named a CSTA Equity Fellow (Cohort 5) and has lent his expertise to authoring rigorous computer science curriculum for Project Lead the Way, BootUp PD, and the Georgia Department of Education. As a featured speaker at premier conferences like ISTE, CSTA, and GAETC, Victor focuses heavily on building sustainable teacher capacity and equity-centered CS implementation. He also champions systemic academic accountability as a school board member and chair of the Academic Excellence Committee at Tapestry Public Charter School. Victor is completely dedicated to preparing the next generation of digital leaders to step onto the Yard and into the global tech landscape.
