About me
Yasemin Kinak is a 9-12 Math and Computer Science teacher at Carteret High School. She has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a Masters Degree in Mathematics with a concentration in secondary education. She has been teaching for over 20 years and has created and developed the Computer Science Department at Leonia High School and Carteret High School. Ms. Kinak's teaching philosophy fosters genuine connection between the teacher and learner. She believes that when the heart is seen and heard, and proper resources are available for exploring, then learning and growth occur naturally. Her efforts in promoting equity in Computer Science has earned her an equity award from CollegeBoard in 2025. She has tremendous support from faculty and staff at Carteret High School and is grateful that she has the opportunity to help students make computer science a part of their learning experience.
