About me
My name is Alicia Somers. I am an educator with 29 years of experience teaching both special education and general education students, ranging from preschool through second grade. I hold a P-3 license, K-5 license and Teacher of the Handicapped N-12. I have a Master's in Education. In recent years, I have taught in a STEAM camp teacher. In the classroom. I have introduced young learners to robotics, coding, and unplugged computer science activities, helping them build creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence with emerging technologies. I am passionate about teaching students about farming and agriculture, bringing real-world connections into the classroom. I have completed coursework in computer science, coding, and design thinking. My teaching philosophy centers on empowering young learners to experiment, collaborate, and grow—laying a strong foundation for success in both academics and life
