About me
Kim Smith is a STEAM, computer science, and design thinking educator with more than 25 years of experience helping students and teachers use technology to create, design, and solve real-world problems. Her work focuses on making computer science, engineering, and STEAM learning accessible, engaging, and inclusive through tools such as CAD, 3D printing, electronics, AI, and other emerging technologies.
Kim brings her experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and technology leader to conferences and events across the country, sharing practical, classroom-tested ideas that help educators reimagine what’s possible in K–8 classrooms. She presents at national and regional events, including ISTE, CSTA, TCEA, OETC, MACUL, Vermont Fest, AI Summit, CSTANJ CSPD Week, and the ITEEA Fall Forum.

She is also a member of the Tinkercad Teacher Advisory Board, the CSTA National Reflective Teacher Committee, the CSTANJ Steering Committee, the K–12 Offshore Wind Energy Project Advisory Panel, and is a KidWind Teacher Trainer.
Kim is also the founder of STREAM Camp, a program that provides paid professional development for teachers in a relaxed, camp-style environment where educators explore creative, collaborative, and hands-on approaches to STEAM learning. With a background that spans teaching, instructional coaching, technology leadership, and systems administration, she is passionate about helping schools and educators create student-centered learning experiences that spark creativity, build confidence, and prepare all learners for the future.
